Creative Journeys – Discovering the artist inside
For the exhibitors, “Creative Journeys” is the culmination of several years working to develop our creativity using textiles, stitching and mixed media. We are each on our own voyage of discovery, from learning design principles and use of colour to looking at everyday things from new perspectives. Hazel and Terry of InStitches provide a supportive environment to introduce many different approaches to developing design ideas. In the early days, every session was an exploration of new techniques including mark making, printing, colour mixing and fabric dying. As we grow in confidence and ability, we have moved on to project work, creating our own themes and colour palettes. This exciting approach enables each individual to develop their own style and preferred media, which is on display here in Henley.
