Year-long courses
We know that not everyone is confident in selecting colours which work well together or developing designs which complement each other and work within a theme. So we have developed our year-long courses to help if you've always wondered how to go about making great design choices.
Our classes are limited to small, friendly groups of around ten students. Popular ones fill up fast, so when you see something you fancy don’t delay. There are two ways to find out what's available:
- see all our workshop dates at a glance on our courses and workshops calendar, then follow the links for more information and to book your place.
- or read the summaries below and follow the link for the course or workshop that takes your fancy.
Bringing colour to life
Over the year of Bringing colour to life we’ll show you how to create colour schemes from your source inspiration and interpret them into fabric. You’ll learn how to dye, paint and print your own fabrics, adding marks and texture, so that by the end of the course you’ll have your own unique collection ready to use.
Creative journeys
This is an invitation-only, student-led course for advanced students who have completed ITS or Bringing Colour to Life .
The course aims to facilitate individuals' development needs with limited taught content and an evolving format. You will be encouraged to explore surfaces for stitch, building on ideas started on paper or in sketchbooks, developing them in the following months in fabric and stitch, and perhaps eventually creating resolved pieces of work. Studio days
As busy people, we all know that sometimes to 'get work done' you just need to remove yourself from everyday life; and that's where we can help! We have a fully equipped studio for wet or dry work, with no distractions, plenty of space, variable height tables, good light, warm, a friendly welcome, the support of other textile enthusiasts, fully equipped for sewing (but you'll need to bring your own machine) and dyeing and printing fabric.
The studio is available for a day each month and you can book individual days right up to a week beforehand. Find out more here.
