Wendy Dolan - Inspired by India

Explore the vibrant colours and patterns of Indian textiles

Picture
Wendy Dolan is a textile artist living in Sussex, who uses fabrics and threads to create textured designs, specialising in freehand machine embroidery and related creative stitching techniques.
In this workshop Wendy takes inspiration from her travels in India.  As she travels  she records her ideas with sketch, torn paper collage and her camera which is always on hand.

Once you have pieced and layered a selection of natural fabrics to create a textured background you'll combine a selection of other textured fabrics with fabric painting, block printing and freehand machine embroidery to create unique designs.
