Stewart Kelly - Following a line

A sensory exploration ​of
drawing and
​contemporary stitch

Stewart Kelly is an internationally recognised artist based in Manchester, United Kingdom.  For over twenty years, Stewart has exhibited his work in the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, USA and China.
​

​Stewart gained a BA (Hons) in Fashion & Textiles Design from Liverpool John Moores University specialising in textile art and design. During his studies, he exhibited and sold fabric designs with Indigo Salon at Premiere Vision in Paris. His clients included; Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, Lauren Vidal, Sahco Hesslein and Ralph Lauren Home Collection.

Stewart is a member of the European Textile Network and the Surface Design Association.

​During this workshop, you will explore the possibilities of combining drawing, colour, mixed media, paper as fabric, and stitched textile techniques. ​
This will be an experimental workshop, focusing on exploration and the process of discovery through making.  Stewart will be encouraging you to come with an open mind, a willingness to try and a sense of adventure!

Over the 2 days you will have four workshops, on day one you will have a sensory drawing workshop followed by an exploring stitch and on day two you will explore collage and create form by constructing 2 and 3 dimensional shapes,
​There will be home-made biscuits with morning coffee, a light seasonal lunch and an enticing cake with a pot of afternoon tea.  So why not treat yourself and spend a day being creative in the company of friends?

​Date:  Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th September 2021
Time: workshop days run from  9.30am until 4.30pm 

Cost: £210
A £105 deposit will secure your place.
