Kate Findlay - Wild Garden
Berkshire artist Kate Findlay can't think of anything she likes doing more than starting with an idea, and developing it through the use of colour and composition until it becomes a new work of art.
In this two day workshop Kate will guide you with colour choices, composition and perspective, to help you achieve a rich, exciting design inspired by the wonderful haphazard effect of herbaceous borders in bloom.

On the first day you will start to build your garden using wooden printing blocks and hand cut stencils based on real foliage. Kate will guide you through a range of processes including sponging and other mark-making techniques to build up a rich background.
With your background composition finished, on the second day you'll add raw edge fabric pieces inspired by flower and leaf shapes to really bring your wild garden to life. Finally you'll machine stitch everything into place before hand stitching to further embellish your wild garden.

Whether you are a beginner or have plenty of experience this workshop is suitable for anyone interested in working creatively with fabric, thread, paper and paint.
Scrumptious biscuits with your morning coffee, a light seasonal lunch and a 'naughty, but nice' cake with a pot of afternoon tea. All this and a day being creative in the company of like minded people, what's not to like?
Please note: Places are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis; to secure your place please ensure that your deposit is paid at the time of booking. |
