Kate Findlay - Experimental textiles
Join Berkshire artist, Kate Findlay for three days of serious play and in this introduction to experimental textiles you will create a portfolio of A4 size samples using a wide variety of techniques and materials to inspire future projects.
Over the three days you will work with spunbonded synthetic textile materials including Lutradur, Evolon and Zeelon, explore paining and foiling onto fusible webs, laminate tissue papers and photocopies to organzas, burn or join synthetics with soldering irons and heat guns.
There will also be the opportunity to work with Solvy and dimensional fabric mediums, explore different paints, including metallics, Brusho and heat transfer paints.
Once you have sampled the different techniques Kate will give you individual tutorials to consider how to take them further in your own work. |
Whether you are a beginner or have plenty of experience this workshop is suitable for anyone interested in working creatively with fabric, thread, paper and paint.
Scrumptious biscuits with your morning coffee, a light seasonal lunch and a 'naughty, but nice' cake with a pot of afternoon tea. All this and a day being creative in the company of like minded people, what's not to like?
