Judith Needham: Willow angels and other Christmas decorations
Judith is a basket maker and willow weaver based in Farnham, Surrey - England's Craft Town. She specialise in woven willow playhouses but also make baskets which she sell at craft fairs and in the New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham.
Unfortunately, Terry won't let Hazel have a woven onion in the studio, but she did say yes to the beautiful Christmas angels made out of stripped willow!
We fist saw the angels when a friend did a workshop with Judith last year and immediately knew we wanted her to come and teach in the InStitches studio.
We'll be making elegant angel sculptures about 40cm tall out of white (stripped) willow and decorating them with fairy lights. We'll also make willow stars, little woven trees and even mini reindeer!
There will be home made biscuits with morning coffee, a light seasonal lunch and an enticing cake with a pot of afternoon tea. So why not treat yourself and spend a day being creative, you'll go home with enough decorations for yourself and a few to give as presents too!
Date: Friday 8th December 2017,
The studio will be open from 9am and the workshop will start at 9.30am until 4.30pm.
Cost: £80 (this includes all materials and lunch).
