Weave a willow plant support with Judith Needham
Autumn may nearly be with us but there's still time to upgrade the bamboo cane and string plant supports in your garden, or perhaps make something more substantial for your climbing rose or clematis.
Farnham based willow weaver Judith Needham will show you how to make beautiful willow plant supports for your garden in whatever size you need, from natural, sustainable willow grown in Somerset.
You will learn several different weaving techniques which together make a great introduction to the world of traditional basket making. At the end of the morning you will have a strong, sturdy, obelisk for training either beans and peas or a permanent climbing plant like a clematis.
You could even cover it in fairy lights and use it as a contemporary Christmas tree, which is exactly what I plan to do with one of the two I made with Judith this summer!
