Debbie Lyddon - Stitched collage workshop
Inspired by landscape and place, Debbie uses mixed media and textiles to create sculptural pieces, installations and drawings. She explores the natural processes of change that occur in the coastal environment of Norfolk where she is partly based, paying attention to things that are seen and also by sounds, happenings and touch.
She enjoys the process of making and constructing with cloth, and experiments with non-traditional coastal materials such as salt, seawater and bitumen to change the natural qualities of the cloth.
In her words: "My practice aims to present a multi-sensory interpretation of my surroundings – one that can be seen, touched and heard."

In this workshop you will make a machine and hand stitched collage based on a photo or drawing of your choice.
On the first day you will design your collage and paint fabric and paper in order to produce interesting materials for your collage. On the second day you will assemble your collage paying attention to shape and placement before finishing it off with waxing techniques and hand stitching.

Scrumptious biscuits with your morning coffee, a light seasonal lunch and a 'naughty, but nice' cake with a pot of afternoon tea. All this and a day being creative in the company of like minded people, what's not to like?
Whether you are a beginner or have plenty of experience this workshop is suitable for anyone interested in working creatively with fabric, thread, paper and paint.
