Colour to dye for workshops: Introduction to screen printing

This two day workshop is an introduction to the concept of screen printing and we'll show you how to use a silk screen to create a variety of simple patterns to produce beautiful and original fabric. ​
On the first day we will show you how to prepare a new screen and how to mix thickened dyes.
You will then use a modified 'blank' screen' to print with, learning how much dye to use , how to hold both the screen and squeegy and how much pressure to use.
Gradually, as your confidence grows, you'll work on layering  images and techniques to create exciting and original fabrics.​
​The Introduction to screen printing  workshop can be enjoyed by beginners as well as those with some experience. We'll provide tea and coffee  but you'll need to bring your own packed lunch.
