Amarjeet Nandhra - Collagraph printing

Due to Coronavirus this workshop is CANCELLED for these dates - hopefully just Postponed. We will try to reschedule later this year or next year.
We are very sorry that we have had to do this, but it is the only option at the moment.

Spend time exploring different collagraph and relief print making techniques with mixed media artist Amarjeet Nandhra.

Picture
Amarjeet Nandhra is a practising artist whose work explores the narrative of cloth and objects within a social, economic and cultural setting.  Amarjeet examines the hidden meaning, looking beyond the aesthetic sensibility of textiles and the objects in question and she is interested in unpicking and examining the stories, history and memories that they hold.

A defining characteristic of her creative practice is her passion for print.

During this workshop, you will explore different collagraph and relief print making techniques. You will create small blocks of textures, using simple materials which can be printed on their own or in conjunction with one another. You will also have the opportunity to explore a method that involves printing from textile samples you have created in the past.

You will print on paper and fabric to create a set of uniquely rich and expressive prints.

Whether you are a beginner or have plenty of experience this workshop is suitable for anyone interested in working creatively with fabric, thread, paper and paint.
On these workshops fresh ground coffee and an assortment of teas are on tap, with home-made biscuits in the morning, a tasty light lunch and a delicious cake at teatime. Just right to fuel your creativity and make guest tutor days even more of a treat.

Date: Tuesday 26th,  Wednesday 27th  & Thursday 28th May 2020 (three days)

The studio will be open from 9.15am and the workshop will start at 9.30am until  4.30pm (ish) each day.
