Amanda Hislop - Abstracted land
Amanda Hislop has been teaching for over 20 years and seeks to blur the boundaries between art and craft. In her own work she combines drawn and painted marks with thread, paper and fabric, with machine embroidery to add depth and texture.
In this three-day design workshop you will be using drawn lines, colour washes, wax resist, collage and folding techniques to free up and create expressive compositions for development into stitched work.
You will also have the opportunity to extend and explore your compositions into surfaces for hand and free machine stitch.
Whether you are a beginner or have plenty of experience this workshop is suitable for anyone interested in working creatively with fabric and thread
Dates: Tuesday 3rd to Thursday 5th August 2021 (3 days) The studio will be open from 9.15am and the workshop will start at 9.30am until 4.30pm (ish) each day.
