Collecting Colours - with Alice Fox
We are really pleased to welcome Alice Fox to the InStitches Studio. Based in West Yorkshire, Alice has a fascination for the detail of the natural world: working in print, stitch and weave and harnessing natural processes, using found objects and materials as tangible links to landscapes.
In Collecting Colours you will explore techniques for capturing natural colours on cloth and paper before bringing colour, mark and hand stitch together.
Using gathered materials and plant matter Alice will show you how to make your own inks and experimental mark-making tools, as well as eco-printing on paper and cloth.
Whether you are a beginner or have plenty of experience this workshop is suitable for anyone interested in working creatively with fabric, thread, paper and eco inks.
Date: Monday 4th & Tuesday 5th June 2018
The studio will be open from 9.15am and the workshop will start at 9.30am until 4.30pm (ish) each day.
An £80 deposit will secure your place.
